About Us

“Founded in 2000, SSEJ, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) provides critical support to thousands of Jews in Ethiopia waiting to make aliyah. As the principal provider of humanitarian aid to the Jewish community in Ethiopia, SSEJ offers a range of programs including feeding centers, medical care, and both Jewish and secular education, alongside fostering religious and communal activities. While a portion of its efforts extends to assisting Ethiopian Jews in Israel, the majority of its funds are allocated to those in Ethiopia. Notably, SSEJ operates with minimal overhead, predominantly relying on volunteers in the U.S.
